New Moon in Pisces | An infusion of love

In typical Piscean fashion, this New Moon cannot be viewed solely through the lens of the personal - this New Moon has got a transcendental quality to it.  Pisces does not believe in boundaries.  Pisces sees only Oneness.  Rather than a solid or a liquid, Pisces is like a gas.  The beautiful smell of roses that indiscriminately infuses a whole room with its scent.  Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac, the sign synonymous with the ocean, with Oneness, with returning home to that place where everything is connected.  With a New Moon in Pisces we cannot ignore our interdependence - we must look up and zoom out.  Get a sense of the bigger picture and how we fit into it.  It stands for those phrases like ‘love conquers all’ and ‘all you need is love’.  A Pisces Moon asks us to dissolve the boundaries within ourselves and between us with the gentle yet powerful force of love.

Happening on the same day that Uranus enters Taurus, this Moon marks the beginning of a new 7 year cycle where the planet of rebellion and revolution moves out of a Fire sign (Aries) and into an Earth sign.  In tense aspect to the Saturn/Pluto conjunction in Capricorn, here we must prepare for earthquakes at the very foundation of our lives.  As old structures and broken paradigms continue to reveal their weaknesses and loosen their hold both within us and out in the world, Uranus in Taurus invites us to turn our hearts and minds to our connection to our bodies and to the Earth.  And with a Pisces New Moon, the question at hand is - is this a connection that needs to be infused with more love and compassion?  Can our choices and actions move from us from that place?  Can we let our hearts be our compass as we chart these new waters that we find ourselves in?

We are fully supported in this heart-centred exploration.  Jupiter in Sagittarius trines Uranus in Taurus and squares the New Moon to remind us that our growth and expansion can no longer be at the expense of others or of the planet.  The time has come when if we rise, we must rise together.  Saturn/Pluto in Capricorn keep us in check, relentlessly reminding us that we are still a work in progress and that there are no shortcuts when it comes to deep and lasting transformation in the material world!  What we must do is put one foot in front of the other, honouring each step of this long journey and trusting that we are unfolding into a brighter future.

My astro-blend for this lunation is Ylang Ylang, Geranium and Myrrh.  The combination strengthens our connection to the Earth, infuses it with love and invites us to move towards a place of deeper integration of all the parts of ourselves.
